According to a report released today by Fast Company Apple is said to be working on a 3D laser system to make for better AR to their next iPhone. SinceSince unveiling its ARKit at last months WWDC event Apple name has been the company being tossed around as the future of AR.
Lasers are common in smartphone cameras to help quickly autofocus and The iPhone's 3D laser system will allow for better depth perception to accurately map the phone's surroundings and place objects in the environment.
Fast Companies sources said the VSCEL laser system is probably intended for the 10th anniversary iPhone which may be called the iPhone 8.
